Pain Management
Vale Hospital’s Pain Management service provides a comprehensive and integrated approach to the management of all kinds of pain including both acute and chronic. Pain management strategies include consultation appointments, assessment and investigations, and treatment of patients experiencing pain.
Primarily based in the Vale Hospital, near Cardiff, the pain management service is led by Consultant Anaesthetist Ash Wagle, who works closely with his consultant colleagues (in particular Orthopaedic consultants) to manage pain throughout the whole body.
Conditions and problems that can be treated at the pain management clinic include, but are not limited to:
- Lumbar disc herniation
- Cervical syndrome
- Myofascial syndromes
- Migraine headache
- Chronic neck and shoulder pain
- Degenerative disc disease (cervical and lumbar)
- Phantom limb pain
- Incision pain
- Abdominal and pelvic pain
- Nerve injury pain
- Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
Primarily based at The Vale Hospital, the Pain Management clinic is open to all patients, including those with medical insurance and those who self-pay.
