The Colorectal service at Vale Healthcare offers specialist assessment and diagnosis. Your appointment/s could involve some colorectal investigations such as Proctoscopy/ Rigid Sigmoidoscopy performed by Wales’ leading consultants, and Immediate Flexible Sigmoidoscopy for patients with high risk symptoms.
This service is primarily run from our Cardiff Bay Clinic, where access to a specialist endoscopy theatre and equipment can usually mean assessment and diagnosis within one visit to see a colorectal consultant. Any colorectal surgery would then be performed by our colorectal specialists at either at The Vale Hospital, Hensol, near Cardiff or at the Cardiff Bay Clinic.
